The script, every cue on its line, the show run from one screen.

SCRIPTINDX is a cue book for everyone who runs a theatre show: sound, lighting, video, stage management. Open the rehearsal script as a PDF, mark each cue on the exact words it goes on, and run the show: standby, GO, and the next cue always in view. The PDF is never touched — your marks live beside it and survive a new script version.

Built for the cue book

Cues on the words

Drag over the words the cue goes on. The mark snaps to whole words, the label sits right under it, and the page opens a gap so nothing covers the text. A cue can be anything the operator does — a sound, a lighting state, a video, a fader move, or just a note to watch for.

Run it like a prompt book

The standby chip shows what fires next. GO with Space or Return, Back with Backspace, arrow keys step pages and cues. Dim the screen for the house.

Follows the show

SCRIPTINDX listens to OSC (QLab and others) and to MIDI or MSC from the lighting desk, so the cue book turns its pages with the show. It never sends commands — your playback system and desk stay in charge.

Strike and hide

Cuts from rehearsal go straight onto the page: strike words out or blank them completely, line by line, and take it back with one click.

Marks survive new versions

Cues, strikes, memos and flags are saved beside the PDF in their own file. When the script changes, keep your marks and swap the PDF underneath.

Export the marked script

Export a PDF that looks exactly like the screen — the printed backup for the night the laptop decides not to wake up.

Questions

Does SCRIPTINDX control QLab or the lighting desk?

No, by design. It receives OSC, MIDI and MSC so it can follow the show, but it does not fire anything. The show runs from QLab, the desk or whatever drives it.

Which PDFs work?

Any PDF with a text layer: exported from Word, Pages, Final Draft or scanned and OCR'd. Word snapping, strikes and the cue gaps all come from the PDF's own text.

Where are my marks stored?

In a small file next to the PDF, named like the script. Back it up with the script, share it with a colleague, or open it on another Mac.

What does it cost?

49 € one-time, for up to three of your own Macs, with free updates. The trial is fully functional for 14 days. Until the store opens, the trial does not lock you out.

Testing it in a production?

Email riku@rmksound.net and you get a tester key that extends the trial, entered under Settings › License.

System requirements?

macOS 13 Ventura or newer. The app is signed and notarized by Apple; nothing is sent anywhere — there is no telemetry.
